It has been a year since the Polish Accessibility Act came into force, and this is a good moment to check how it looks in practice. Business Accessibility Forum asked people working in member organizations what has actually changed in their companies, from audits and training to the place of accessibility in business strategy. The responses show that accessibility is becoming a permanent part of product and service design. Below are the full survey results along with the conclusions presented during the Trialogue meeting at the Ministry of Funds and Regional Policy.

Digital accessibility and plain language matter for millions of people. The needs related to using digital services concern all of us. Statistical data highlights two customer groups for whom accessibility is particularly important. Seniors already make up over 26% of the population, while neurodivergent individuals account for as much as 15–20%. Accessibility is no longer a side topic — it is becoming one of the most important challenges and responsibilities of modern businesses.

The article prepared by Kamil Maciejewski, Key Expert at the Research and Quality Monitoring Office of VeloBank and an active BAF member, illustrates the scale of these needs based on demographic data. It also analyses why designing in line with WCAG standards and applying plain language is becoming one of the key competitive differentiators.

On July 20, 2025, the Accessibility Council by the Ministry of Funds and Regional Policy accepted the first set of recommendations introduced by the working EAA Group for implementing the European Accessibility Act. This step moves Poland toward effective application of the so called Polish Accessibility Act.

On September 4, the Ministry of Funds and Regional Policy hosted the inaugural meeting of the Group for the Implementation of the European Accessibility Act (EAA), operating within the Accessibility Council.
